The West Virginia Coal Association is calling on all West Virginians to stand up for our state’s energy future by supporting Senate Bill 420 – critical legislation to protect our coal-fired power plants, ensure reliable baseload energy, preserve good-paying jobs, and help keep electric rates stable for families and businesses.
The West Virginia Senate, in partnership with President Trump, is advancing this crucial initiative led by Senate President Randy Smith, Senate Energy Committee Chair Chris Rose, and Senator’s Brian Helton and Rupie Phillips. The Association applauds their leadership and vision in working to secure the foundation of West Virginia’s energy economy.
“We thank the Senate Energy, Industry, and Mining Committee for moving this bill forward,” said Chris Hamilton, President of the West Virginia Coal Association. “S.B. 420 is about more than just energy policy – it’s about West Virginia’s future. Our coal-fired power plants are vital to maintaining dependable electricity for the region, supporting thousands of jobs, and sustaining the communities that power America.”
The Association urges every West Virginian to contact their State Senator and Delegate today and ask them to SUPPORT S.B. 420.
“Now is the time to act,” Hamilton continued. “Let’s stand together to protect West Virginia’s coal-fired power future – for our workers, our families, and our state’s economy.”
