(Charleston, WV) - America’s Coal Associations issued the following statement applauding President Trump and the National Energy Dominance Council for today’s major policy and regulatory actions involving several important energy and regulatory initiatives spanning the Department of Energy, the Department of Interior, and the Environmental Protection Agency. Coined “Coal Day 2.0” by EPA Administrator Zeldin, the three agencies jointly detailed plans and policies to further advance President Trump’s Executive Orders regarding coal, coal-fired power plants, energy security, and to implement the coal-related provisions of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.

Chris Hamilton, President/CEO of the West Virginia Coal Association stated “We are deeply appreciative of President Trump’s steadfast commitment to America’s coal industry and energy security. The planned initiatives by the Department of Energy, Department of Interior, and Environmental Protection Agency represent an extraordinary affirmation of the President’s long-standing support for responsible coal production, family-sustaining coal jobs, and reliable, affordable American energy.”

"From advancing the One Big Beautiful Bill Act to establishing the National Energy Dominance Council and directing meaningful regulatory improvements, the President’s continued actions deliver confidence and opportunity to thousands of miners and communities across coal states nationwide," said Rachel Gleason, Executive Director of the Pennsylvania Coal Alliance.

"The planned expansion of federal land leases and updated royalty policies will help ensure a stable future for miners and their families while essential federal investments in both maintaining and building coal-fired generation safeguard our grid, grow domestic manufacturing, and protect America against outages and adversaries," said Travis Deti, Executive Director of the Wyoming Mining Association.

The Associations especially welcomes the Environmental Protection Agency’s commitment to re-examining water and air guidelines with input from those directly impacted, and to recognizing the successful compliance strategies pioneered across the nation in our coal states. As Secretary Burgum said, “American needs to take the lead…innovation, not regulation drives success,” and by relying on sound science, the agency’s reviews signal a return to regulatory fairness and balanced stewardship of our land and air.

“On behalf of the workers and families who power this nation every day, we thank President Trump, the Secretary of Energy, Secretary of the Interior, and the EPA Administrator for listening, for acting, and for honoring the critical contributions of America’s coal industry.”, said Lyndsey Wright, Executive Director, Women's Mining Coalition.

We look forward to working in partnership to advance these historic policies, protect good jobs, and foster a future where coal continues to energize our country and strengthen American prosperity,” said Brian Somers, Executive Director, Utah Mining Association.
