CHARLESTON -- Thanks to the our many coal supporters across the state and nation, our social media footprint now has approximately 69,062 total fans and has delivered 1.3 million impressions (eyeballs on a particular item) and have added 2,900 new fans during the past 15 days. Over the past 90 days, we have added 14,200 new fans and garnered 4.4 million impressions.
This could not have been possible without the support of so many people across West Virginia and the nation who understand the importance of coal to our nation’s economy. We would like to take a moment to thank you all. Now let’s push on to 100,000 fans.

CHARLESTON – The Association has taped the next two episodes of "The Coal Seam.” The first episode, which will run through the month of June, features a report of the Governor's signing of HB4346 in Logan. We also taped an episode of The Coal Seam with WV Attorney General Patrick Morrisey discussing the climate regulations and their impact on the state and nation. The show with AG Morrisey will be broadcast during the month of July. DANVILLE – Citizens for Coal will hold its first annual “Coalstock” concert Saturday, June 7, 2014 starting at 2 p.m. at Lick Creek Park in Danville, WV. Proceeds will be used to help continue the fight against the Obama Administration’s War on Coal.
Performers will include Kayla Stone and the Coal-Fired Band, Meet Me in the Matinee, The Daddy Rabbit Band, Tim Williams and Under Social. Admission is $10 with children under 12 admitted free. Come on out and enjoy a great day of music and fun for a good cause.

Earlier this week the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection (WV DEP) launched a website for Senate Bill 373, the aboveground storage tank bill that was passed by the West Virginia Legislature in the 2014 Regular Session. The page contains an archive of information and resources related to the agency’s implementation of the bill and a link to the electronic forms to register aboveground tanks as required by the legislation. The registration process for tanks will begin in mid-June and all tanks (>1,320) must be completed by October 2014.

WASHINGTON -- EPA chief Gina McCarthy will unveil a proposal for the nation's first-ever carbon emissions limits on existing power plants Monday at 10:30 a.m. at EPA headquarters.
McCarthy said last week that Obama had indicated he might personally announce the rule, but a White House official said, today, Obama would not be joining McCarthy for the announcement. Instead, Obama will dedicate his weekly address on Saturday to the carbon pollution rule, the official said. Also on Monday, Obama will participate in a conference call hosted by the American Lung Association with the public health community.

The 21st West Virginia Coal Festival is set for June 17 thru June 21 in downtown Madison. This year’s event will feature top-notch entertainers, a parade, miner’s memorial service, mine equipment exhibits, fireworks, carnival, beauty pageant and many other events.
