Capito Takes West Virginia Jobs Message Directly To The President

Congresswoman Shelley Moore Capito, R-W.Va., was one of only a handful of Republican Members to press President Obama on jobs at today’s meeting at the White House.

“Most Americans, at least from what I’m hearing, do not agree with the President’s handling of the economy. They’re frustrated with the reckless spending in Washington and concerned about the direction of our fragile economy. Coal-fired plant hits construction milestone

MORGANTOWN -- The developer of a $2 billion coal-fired power plant in northern West Virginia says the project has reached a key milestone.

Longview Power said Monday that its plant in Maidsville has begun generating electricity. Commercial operations are expected to begin this summer.

Longview Power says hiring for the 695-megawatt plant is nearly complete. The plant will have 96 employees.
