Long, proven history of standing up for West Virginia’s miners, the coal industry, their families and their communities secures endorsement

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The West Virginia Coal Association officially has endorsed Delegate Rupie Phillips for Congress in the 3rd Congressional District of West Virginia.

“Delegate Rupie Phillips recognizes the important role West Virginia’s coal industry plays in keeping the state’s economy strong, and he has proven time and time again that he is willing to fight not only for the industry, but for West Virginia miners and their families,” said Bill Raney, president of the West Virginia Coal Association.

“During his time at the Legislature, Rupie has been an advocate for the importance of coal to West Virginia and the nation, working tirelessly against the Obama Administration’s crippling war on coal and the disastrous impacts it had on our families and communities,” Raney said. “He led the Legislature’s efforts to oppose the anti-coal bureaucrats in Obama’s regulatory regime.  We believe he deserves the same opportunity in Washington as a member of Congress to assist President Trump in making America and West Virginia great again.”
